Discover Buckie’s fishing heritage through a series of historic sites and attractions. Start at Buckpool Harbour, built in 1857, which played a crucial role in the local fishing industry before becoming Buckpool Harbour Park. Explore The Yardie, a conservation area featuring traditional fisher cottages and visit the Seamen’s Memorial Chapel with its stained-glass windows and Roll of Honour for those lost at sea. The Fishermen’s Hall, established in 1886, remains a community hub for meetings and events.

Follow the Fish Wives Walk from Buckie to Keith, celebrating the women who bartered fish for produce. The Buckie and District Fishing Heritage Centre showcases artifacts and photos from the local fishing industry, while Cluny Fish and Associated Seafoods highlight the area’s ongoing seafood processing and smoking traditions.

Cluny Harbour, established in 1877, remains Buckie’s industrial heart, and the Buckie Lifeboat Station, operating since 1860, houses the RNLI’s largest lifeboat. Buckie Shipyard and The Drifter Maritime Heritage Centre reflect the town’s shipbuilding legacy and maritime history. Nearby, Buckie Lighthouse and the conservation village of Findochty, with its historic architecture and war memorial sculpture “The Manny,” offer further insights into the region’s past.
